Adolis García (quad) is not in Wednesday’s lineup against the Diamondbacks.
García, 32, will miss a third-straight game while dealing with his quad injury. The Rangers don’t believe García needs a trip to the injured list, but it’s likely he’ll miss at least another game or two before returning.
Adolis García (quad) is absent from the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Diamondbacks.
No word yet on the severity of the ailment that García suffered during the late stages of Monday’s series opener against the Diamondbacks. It appears the Rangers are going to give him a chance to avoid the injured list since they don’t exactly have a replacement option at this time. There should be a more definitive update regarding the 32-year-old slugger’s outlook at some point this week. He’s likely to miss some time, but it doesn’t sound like an injured list stint is in the cards for now.
Adolis García suffered a quad injury Monday and will be reexamined Tuesday.
So, it’s a new injury for García, rather than an aggravation of his sprained ankle. It sounds like he might go back on the IL, which could lead to a callup for Justin Foscue. Alejandro Osuna would probably be the biggest beneficiary when it comes to playing time.
Adolis García left Monday’s game in the ninth inning with an apparent leg injury.
Garcia, just back from a sprained left ankle, was hurt beating out a potential double-play ball in the ninth, and it might have been that he aggravated the previous injury. He stayed in after a visit from the trainer, but he was in obvious discomfort and not running well while scoring on Jake Burger’s triple afterwards. He was replaced by Alejandro Osuna when the game went to the bottom of the ninth.
